Sarah Bigby

Sarah Corbin Bigby, 93, of Hopewell, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 in MCV Hospital. She was born in Isle of Wight County and had been a resident of this area since 1960. Mrs. Bigby was a graduate of Longwood College and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Zeta Chapter, retired Librarian with the Prince George Co. School System, a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Friends of the Library, Historic Hopewell Foundation and the Womans Club of Hopewell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Doris Daughtrey Corbin and her husband, Leon Bigby. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Wesley United Methodist Church with Wayne Rickman, pastor, assisted by Rev. Teresa Keezel, former pastor, officiating.
