Sarah Spain Britt, 80, of Prince George, VA passed away on August 18, 2014. Born in Petersburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Walton and Mabel Drake Spain; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey L. Britt; and one brother, Jimmy Spain. Mrs. Britt was a member of Second Baptist Church in Petersburg, and was also a member of the Ravenscroft Women’s Club. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. Atchley and husband, Keith; two grandsons, Joshua Atchley and wife, Stevie, and Jacob Atchley and wife, Lindsey; six great-grandchildren, Frankie, Aubrey, Cassidy, India, Blaise and Dietrich; one brother, Ellsworth Spain and wife, Kay; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and David; and special friends, Phyllis “Boochie”, Marleen and Edna. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 22, 2014 in Blandford Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to Brighter Living, Ivy Ridge, and Dr. David Neff for all the care they provided to Mrs. Britt.
