Scott Michael Childers

Scott Michael Childers, 44, of Carson, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Childers. Scott was a family man and patriot and was also an avid Georgia football fan and was an active den leader for the Cub Scouts-Pack 917. He is survived by his wife, Tracy L. Childers; two sons, James “J.J.” Childers and Nicholas Childers; step-daughter, Mayleigh Mayo (Anthony); parents, Clayton and Myra Childers; two grandchildren, Chase and Caleigh Mayo; and sister, Sherrie Taylor (Charles). Scott and Tracy were each other’s loves, supporters and strengths, and he adored and cherished his family. God is with him and preparing the home in heaven that he promised. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 12, 2017.
