Sharon Holloman Hagstrom "Gramma" passed away peacefully on April 8, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 16, 1950, Gramma spent 72 wonderful years spreading joy to any and all around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent taking care of her family and friends.
Sharon's life would seem too short to many. Though those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand how unconditional her love was and the imprint that she left on our hearts. When she wasn't working, she could be found at Lake Gaston, in her kitchen cooking for the whole block. One of her favorite things to do was thrift, whether at a thrift store, a yard sale, flea market, or surfing Facebook marketplace. Not a day went by where Gramma didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her. Her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Richard Hagstrom; the father of her children, Buck Corbin; her parents, Hazel Barden and Herman Holloman; stepfather, George Barden; her son-in-law, Ronald McMillion; and her brother, Nelson Holloman. She is survived by her three children, Denise, Beth (Lou), and Thomas; ten grandchildren, Sherri, Lori, Joshua, Brad, Kay, David, Megan, Allison, Autumn, and Calvin; nine great-grandchildren, Natalie, Elizabeth, Zayden, Brianna, Andy, Emily, Jamie, Elijah, and Alexander; five siblings, Wayne, Diane, Clara, Teresa, and Ann; and an abundance of extended family and close friends.
A loving and wonderful woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 6PM until 8PM, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 2PM, at Salem Baptist Church, 5930 Centralia Road, Richmond, VA 23237. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
