Shelley Vivian Laffoon

Shelley Vivian Laffoon, 73, of Colonial Heights, VA, died Thursday, November 23, 2023, during a brief hospital stay as a result of chronic health conditions. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edith H. Laffoon, and William Jesse "Tubby" Laffoon, Jr. Ms. Laffoon retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia Health Department after many years of service. She is survived by her longtime companion, Randy Woodson; and cousins, Richard D. Hartman, Sr., Joanne H. Beck, Ann F. Perkins, Becky W. McDonough, Barbara F. Thrasher, and Norwood W. Wilson, III; as well as numerous second and third cousins that she loved. The family would like to thank Barbra McLean, for her devoted lifelong friendship; Becky Davis and Katelynn Scott for their care and support as well as close Carroll Avenue neighbors who provided special comfort in recent years. A graveside service will be held at Blandford Cemetery on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM, and all are welcome. Friends and family will gather for lunch at The Boathouse at City Point, 701 W Randolph Rd., Hopewell, VA from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm.
