Sheree Harrell Zimmerman passed away August 13, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Sheree could light up any room she entered. She was a loving, giving mother to her two sons, as well as being a "second mom" to their friends. She was a loving wife, married to Billy Zimmerman for 33 years. She was happiest in her last months being "Mema" to her only grandchild, Harper Zimmerman.
Sheree graduated from Atlantic Christian College in 1979 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree that she used to become a teacher for Chesterfield County Middle Schools. Almost all of her teaching career was at Chester Middle School. She was always putting students art work on display in the halls. Sheree was Department Chair for the Arts and a Chesterfield County Art Teacher of the Year. Sheree and Becky Quesenberry were awarded a grant to "Celebrate the Enduring Values in Chester Through a Century of Change." Sheree and her students painted 5 murals, each covering a 20-year period in the history of Chester. This project was very informative and fun for all who participated.
Sheree touched so many lives, and she will be missed by so many that loved her.
Sheree was preceded in death by her mother, Wren Magette Harrell. She is survived by her husband, Billy Zimmerman; two sons, Todd (Monica) and Jake (Lindsay); father, Dudley Harrell; sister, Connie Thompson; stepsister, Robin Frasier; stepbrother, Greg Venema; and granddaughter, Harper Mackenzie Zimmerman.
