Sherry Lynne Jones

Sherry Lynne Jones, 86, of Enon, Chester, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021. Born in Hopewell, Virginia on December 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George Russell Hughes and Ethel Norwood Sumners, and was also preceded in death by a son, Ernest Guy Jones; two granddaughters, Amber Dawn Powers and Katelynn Dawn Jones.
Mrs. Jones retired from Firestone/Honeywell as a Machine Operator after many years of dedicated service. She was raised in the Pentecostal Holiness Church and always marveled at the beauty of all of God’s creation. She loved everything about the beach, sunrises, sunsets, bright lights, music, dancing, rocking chairs, swings, working in her yard, and watching her yard open up with flowers in spring, and changing to the fall colors. She was never bored with life and always stayed as busy as she wanted until a year ago when she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. It was hard on her to adjust to this new slower pace of life.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her children, Sherry R. Powers, husband Wayne, and Jeffrey A. Jones, wife Misty; grandchildren, April L. Brewer, husband Dustin, Aaron S. Powers, partner Sara, Wayne M. Powers, Jr., wife Sharon, Adam B. Jones, wife Rachel, Zachary C. Jones, Karen Jones, Heather Jones, Jeff Jones, and Joshua Jones; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gloria D. Nowell, partner Shirley Dalton, Linda L. Pevan, husband Richard, Rachel L. Hawk, Toni R. Morelock, husband Jimmy; and a close niece, Tracey Glass, husband Don. All services will be private.
