Sheryl "Momma" / "Sherly" / "Nanny" Stanton
Sheryl Annette Stanton, who loved to be called "Momma" by her kids, and "Sherly" or "Nanny" by her six grandkids, departed her loving family on February 2, 2022.
Sheryl was born in Hopewell, Virginia on February 8, 1952, to Edward and Edith Brown.
Sheryl was the loving mother to Shannon Renee Cadwell and Angel Michele Henning. She raised her children with love and devotion in Macon, Georgia with her husband of 51 years, Jimmie E. Stanton.
As a devoted housewife and mother, Sheryl was known for her love for cooking. Her hobbies included reading, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and spending time with her family. She was most proud of her Chicken and Dumplings and her famous "mac and cheese."
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmie E. Stanton of Macon, Georgia, her daughter, Angel Henning of Macon, Georgia; her six grandkids, Mark Hunter Duke, Abigail Henning, Emma Henning, Chase Duke, Christopher Tooley and Elizabeth Tooley, all of Georgia.
Aside from the child/grandkids she doted on, Sheryl is survived by her loving sisters; and faithful best friends, Wanda Vaughn, Brenda Scott, Francis Darlene Palmer; and her baby brother, William Brown. She also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Bermuda Memorial Park, located at 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23836.
