Shirley Ann Call

Shirley Ann Payne Call, 89, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Born in Fort Madison, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Edna Mead. Shirley was also preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Floyd Lewis (the father of her children), as well as her second husband, Howard Call. Shirley was educated at Fort Madison Iowa High School and worked as a CNA. She was a caretaker, volunteer for a number of charitable causes, and called an "angel" by many who knew her. She was also a HAM radio operator. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Melody Payne Krone, along with her children, Donnie Cornwell, Jonathan Krone and Isaac Krone; her son, David Payne (Lance Harrison); and her daughter, Lisa Payne Desmond (Chuck), and their children, Sarah Blake and James Blake; as well as her great-grandchildren, Kaleb Anderson, Gage Anderson, Cameron Blake, Ragan Blake, Peyton Blake, and Jordan Blake. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 3:15 pm, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Petersburg Chapel, 103 S. Adams Street. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM, at the funeral home prior to the service. The family will also be receiving friends at Wabi Sabi from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
