Shirley Ann Chastain

Shirley Ann Chastain, 88, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Bessie Spain Wallace; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald E. Chastain, Sr.; and five of her siblings. Mrs. Chastain was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Chastain is survived by her five children, Gerald E. Chastain, Jr. (Lynda), David Chastain, Dianne Manor (Henry), Teresa Stewart (Shelley) and Crystal Van Fonda (Joseph); ten grandchildren, Stacey, Travis, Gerald III, Mallory, Joseph II, Katelyn, Joshua, Darby, Chasity, and Haven; eleven great-grandchildren, Jillian, Peyton, Colin, Hailey, Reagan, Nathan, Savannah, Jaxon, Carter, JoJo, and Rhian; one brother, Donnie (Sandra); her sister, Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Southlawn Memorial Park, in Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
