Mrs. Shirley Pond Mann, 71, of Prince George County, died Monday, October 2, 2006, after a brief illness. Born and raised in Ettrick, she was the daughter of the late Robert Leneous and Beatrice Beasley Pond. She became the wife of James â??Jamieâ? Robert Mann on the first of January, 1955 and remained Jamieâ??s loving and devoted wife for fifty years until his death in 2004. She was also predeceased by her dear cousin Zelma Jane Sheffield. Shirleyâ??s greatest gift and what she will be remembered for the most, was her love of life. She shared this remarkable zest for life with her family and friends, as well as those who had just made her acquaintance. She will be deeply missed by all of those she touched. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Denise Mann Kost; her son-in-law, Nicholas and her granddaughter, Basia Denise of Prince George County; her niece, Jan Kidd Cyphers and her husband Dennis and children Sarah Jones and Molly Jones of Chester; her nephew, Naurice Wilton Kidd II and his wife Tammara of Richmond; her cousin, Terri Sheffield Reekes and her husband, Tommy of Ettrick; her cousin, Angela Reekes Souders and her husband, Michael of Chester; her cousin, Tom Reekes and his wife, Jennifer of Richmond; her cousin, Robin Sheffield Fitzpatrick and her husband, Rory of Norfolk. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Lowe, Jr. of the Epiphany Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
