Shirley Pettit

Mrs. Shirley Bury Pettit, 83, of Hopewell, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Southside Regional Medical Center. Petersburg, VA. She was born in the Enon District of Chesterfield County, VA and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas John and Ada Lee Cox Bury, and her husband, James Boyd Pettit, Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy P. Tower of Austin, TX, three sons, James Boyd Pettit, Jr. of Baltimore, John L. Pettit of Georgetown, IN, and Thomas E. Pettit of Hampton, VA, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Clara B. Ameen of Hopewell and a brother, Thomas J. Bury, Jr. of Colonial Heights, VA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 7 â?? 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 1 p.m. in West Hopewell Presbyterian Church with The Rev. John Lindsay, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
