Shirley Rose

Shirley Jean Rose, 70, of Prince George County, VA, died Friday, July 24, 2009 in John Randolph Medical Center. Shirley was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie A. and Etta Bennington Mitchem, her husband, Robert L. Rose, a sister, Hazel Clark and two brothers, Elwood Mitchem and Dewey Mitchem. Shirley is survived by four children, Steven Rose, Robin Irby and her husband Burton, Becky Wright, Michael Rose and his wife, Robin, five grandchildren, Micah, Sarah, Hunter, Austin and Emily, two sisters, Violet Goins and Sylvia Anderson, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gene Ballance, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA officiating.
