Shirley Schmeltzer

Shirley â??Nanaâ? Marie (Beck) Schmeltzer, age 73, went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with COPD. Mrs. Schmeltzer was born in Pinecroft, PA, the daughter of the late Hugh B. and Blanche Waite Beck. She was also preceded in death by her husbandâ??s George W. Schmeltzer and James T. Williamson, Sr. Mrs. Schmeltzer was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church, and of the Mary E. Farmer Circle within the church. She was a waitress at J. C. Pennyâ??s for over 20 years. Mrs. Schmeltzer retired from McGuire Woods Law Firm as an operator. She is survived by her children, Dale Huston and wife, Nanette of Harrisburg, PA, Thomas Schmeltzer and wife, Louise of Durham, NC, Patricia Schmeltzer of Altoona, PA, Debra Bates and husband, Mike of Richmond, VA, Ronald Schmeltzer and wife, Diana of Berwick, PA; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p. m. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, October 2, at 1 p.m. in the Beulah United Methodist Church, Richmond, VA. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Virginia, Friends of Barnabas, or to the Beulah United Methodist Church.
