Shirley Belcher Shepperson

Shirley Belcher Shepperson, 75, of S. Chesterfield, VA passed away on July 20, 2014. Born in Petersburg, VA she was the daughter of the late David C. Sr. and Jennie Virginia Butler Belcher; and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jennie Shepperson. Mrs. Shepperson loved spending time with family, telling stories to her grandchildren, fishing, sewing, baking cakes for all occasions, and making crafts. She was known as “Nanny” to many who loved her dearly. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Maldon E. Shepperson, Sr.; one daughter, Wanter Gunter and husband, Steve; a son, Maldon “Bubba” Shepperson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Jennie and Derek Atkins, and Austin Shepperson; three sisters, Rose Wolfrey, Judy McCellon and husband, Junior; Mary Ford and husband, John; special friends, Pam Bigelow, Sean Hayes, Steven McCleod, Dustin and Melissa Gunter and Becky English; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Gill Grove Baptist Church. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
