Edward Anson Robbins, Sr., 68, of Chesterfield VA, formerly of Sacramento, CA, passed away July 17, 2010 after a six-year battle against breast cancer. He was born May 15, 1942 in Boston, MA, son of the late Kelsey E. & Dorothy J. (Shelton) Robbins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 10 years, Jacklyn C. (Roberts) Robbins. His three children and their spouses survive him: Edward A. (Nancy) Robbins, Jr. of Chesterfield VA, Gertrude R. (John) Cihak of Red Lion, PA, and Hope E. Robbins of Brattleboro VT as well as his brother David K. (Joan) Robbins of Taunton MA. Seven grandchildren also survive him: Edward, Michael & Ashley Robbins, Eva Cihak, and Scott, Matthew & Gail Cartner. One grandchild, Meghan Cartner predeceased him. Raised in Taunton MA, he graduated Taunton HS (1959), was a U. S. Air Force veteran (1962-65), a graduate of American International College (1966), Crane Theological School at Tufts University (1968) and Bridgewater State College (1971). He was a Special Education Teacher, primarily in the Norton MA and Sacramento CA public schools. He retired in February 2010 after a 40-year career in education. Funeral arrangements will be private.
