Thomas Callender Moore, Sr., 81, of Petersburg, widower of Barbara Spurr Moore, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010. He was a native of Petersburg born the son of the late William J. and Ella Callender Moore. Mr. Moore was a past member of the Country Club of Petersburg, Second Presbyterian Church and a retired Insurance Executive. He is survived by his children, Thomas â??Calâ? Moore, Jr. and wife, Donna, Elizabeth Moore Houchins and husband, Gary, William Spurr Moore and wife, Betsy; eight grandchildren, Madison and Ansley Moore, Tyler Stephenson, John, Will and Liza Moore, Barbara and Tyler Houchins; special friends, Robert and Jean Spivey, Gloria and W.F. Dance, Betty Wilson, Gilbert Rideout and Jack Woody. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15th at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, PO Box 574, Petersburg, VA, 23805. Family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
