Sr., D. Vaughan

Jerry Douglas Vaughan, Sr., age 70, of Hopewell, VA, passed away peacefully at his home after an extended illness, on Friday, March 18, 2011. He was born in Montgomery County, VA, the son of the late Andrew C. Vaughan and Virginia Hodge Vaughan Keller. Mr. Vaughan was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Keller. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran, and before retiring, worked with Firestone, Virginia Power, and owned and operated Vaughan Power Equipment. Mr. Vaughan was also a former 32nd degree mason of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #289. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Drumheller Vaughan; daughter, Mary Lynn Vaughan Cooke and her husband, Thomas; son, Jerry Douglas Vaughan, Jr. and his wife, Melissa; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Vaughan and William Vaughan and wife, Zelda. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 22, at 1 p.m. with interment afterwards in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
