Sr., E. Lysen

Robert Ernest Lysen, Sr., age 68, of Chester, VA, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Ernest and Astrid Peterson Lysen. Robert was also preceded in death by his son, SGT Jerry L. Lysen. He led a life of service in the military; retiring as a Sergeant First Class in the U. S. Army and was also a former New Mexico Police officer. Robert was a volunteer with the New Mexico Fire department, with the Chesterfield County Police, the voting polls, and McGuire Veteranâ??s Hospital. He was devoted member of the Hopkins Road Church of Christ. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rose Lysen; children, Maria D. Prince and husband, Ronny, Robert E. Lysen, Jr., Sandra N. Remines and husband, Dennis, and Joseph W. Lysen; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment afterwards in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
