Sr., E. Vaughan

Robert Eugene â??Geneâ? Vaughan Sr., 69, better known as â??Red Dogâ? of Hopewell passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at his residence. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Robert Rives Vaughan and Mary Halloway Vaughan. Gene served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 8 years. He later retired from Firestone/Honeywell after 40 years of service. Gene was also a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge and for the last five years was employed at the Colonial Heights Walmart. He is survived by his son, Robert E. Vaughan, Jr. and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Lisa M. Vaughan; grandchildren, Nicholas, Victoria and Katherine and sisters, Shirley Gallert and Rebekah Grammer. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm.
