Leonard Franklin Harrison, Sr., 76, of Dinwiddie, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, February 16, 2010. A wonderful, loving, selfless husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and advisor, he will be deeply missed by many. He was born December 1, 1933 in the town of Gumberry, NC. Mr. Harrison was a faithful member of Western Heights Baptist Church and served as chairman of the deacons. As a faithful servant in his church, he served on various committees, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. He married the love of his life, Doris Ann Link, on November 10, 1958. Leonard Harrison, Sr. co-established Produce Center #1 in 1961. He enjoyed the grocery business and farming for many years. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his father, Larry V. Harrison, Sr., his mother, Annie Mae Harrison, his brother, Larry V. Harrison, Jr., and his sister, Annie Mae Blazek. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Doris Ann Link Harrison; four sons, Leonard F. Harrison, Jr. and his wife, Marie, David E. Harrison, Randy W. Harrison and his wife, Teresa, Bruce E. Harrison, Sr. and his wife, Keddy; a daughter, Dianne Harrison Lester; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles W. â??Deweyâ? Harrison and his wife, Shirley, Herman W. Harrison and his wife, Frances, and Garland W. Harrison and his wife, Agnes; sister, Virginia Harrison Livesay and husband, Gene; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19th at Western Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Dundalow officiating The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
