Sr., G. Ashby

Gerald Glenn “Corky” Ashby, Sr., 66, of Hopewell died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 in Chippenham Medical Center. He was born in Prince George and was the son of the late Alge Green and Florence Pearl Luck Ashby. He retired from the Petersburg Sheriff’s Department as a Captain after 34 years of service and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his wife, Gloria R. Ashby; daughter, Debra L. Marco; four sons, James M. Lewis, Donald E. Lewis, Tracy S. Lewis and Gerald Glenn Ashby, Jr.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Harry C. Ashby, Sr.; sister, Doris Faulks; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. James Davenport and the Rev. Bob Worthy officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
