James Hunter Nunnally, Sr., 82, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011. He was the son of the late H. G. and Lillian Wells Nunnally. A retired home improvement contractor, Mr. Nunnally enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching Virginia Tech football games, and spending time with the Hardeeâ??s breakfast club. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bettie Ann Kessler Nunnally; sons, James H. Nunnally, Jr. and wife, Pat of Chesterfield and David S. Nunnally of Aylett, VA; his two favorite daughters, Tracy Nunnally DeLuca of Chesterfield and Robyn Nunnally of Suffolk; grandchildren, Candice Anne Nunnally of Richmond, Lindsay Jean Nunnally of Petersburg, and Nicolas DeLuca of Atlanta, GA; brother, Ronald Nunnally and wife, Anne of Orlando, FL; sister, Rose N. Tipton of Richmond; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; honorary grandsons, Thomas Robert Anderson, Lawrence Lester Anderson both of North Carolina, and Kenneth Michael Anderson of California; and his beloved dog, Pookie. The family would like to express their gratitude to Rev. Pam Seeley and the Kenwood Church family, as well as their special neighbors and friends, for all of their support. In addition, they would like to express their appreciation to Mr. Nunnallyâ??s homecare nurses, Traci and Angel, the ICU nurses and 4th Floor staff at Southside Regional for their compassion and dedicated care. They would also like to thank Dr. Ogburn and his nurse, Stacy, Dr. Amin, and the staff at Hospice of Virginia. A service of love and remembrance will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 1st at Kenwood United Methodist Church, led by Rev. Pam Seeley. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
