Sr. H. Oakley

Harry Hinston Oakley, Sr.,73, of Petersburg passed away Tuesday December 30, 2003 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late John Edgar Oakley, Sr. and Bertha Oakley. He was the husband of Barbara Anne Stables Oakley. He was a retired Chemist with Allied Chemical in Hopewell, Virginia. He is also survived by one son, Harry Hinston Oakley, Jr. and his wife, Catherine of Chesterfield, VA, three daughters, Cathy Faye Oakley Trexler of Petersburg, VA, Sharon Leith Oakley of Richmond, VA and Terri Drew Oakley Lipscomb of Chesterfield, VA. Mr. Oakley is also survived by a brother John Edgar Oakley and his wife, Cece of Petersburg, VA. and a sister, Newanna Anderson and her husband, Andy of Petersburg, VA He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Roy A. Trexler III, Raymond Todd Trexler, Melanee Michelle Oakley, Celeste Dawn Oakley, Harry Hinston Oakley, III, Christopher Ryan O’neill and Aaron Lipscomb. He also has numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. Oakley is predeceased by a twin brother, Larry Winston Oakley. The Family will receive friends Friday January 2, 2004, from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service Saturday 11:00 AM January 3 at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Diabetic Association.
