Sr., J. Stewart

Walter Joseph Stewart, Sr., 84, of Dendron, died on Monday, June 14, 2010 at his home. Born on October 1, 1925 in Dendron, he was the son of the late Peyton J. and Lillie Barnes Stewart.
He was a retired farmer and retired from Continental Can. He also worked on the Jamestown Ferry and was a member of Union Christian Church and Union Hunt Club in Dendron.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Fannie R. Stewart; his children, Bucky Stewart and his wife, Connie, Millie Bulifant and her husband, Charlie, Robert Stewart and his wife, Robbie, and Marvin Stewart; four grandchildren, Delores Roberts, Wayne Stewart, Rebecca Hite, and Jessica Stewart; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Roberts; two step-granddaughters, Rebecca Belter and Kayla Howell; step-great grandsons, Brandon, Jaydon, Landon, Ashton, Steven and Tyler; a sister, Mary Wilson, a very dear friend Duane Huber; and a sister-in-law, Clara Crowder.
The family will receive friends at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Wakefield on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 6-8PM and at the home of Bucky and Connie Stewart at other times. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the funeral home at 2:00PM, officiated by Rev. Ray Rowland. Burial will follow in the Union Christian Church Cemetery in Dendron.
