Sr. John C. Whitt

John Cleveland Whitt, Sr. of Disputanta, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010. He was the son of the late Chester and Virginia Chatman Whitt. Retired from Allied Signal B Plant with 36 years of service, he is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jane Whitt; children, Teresa Stump (Danny), John Whitt, Jr. (Stacy), Mike Whitt (Kim) and Jo Rae Woodlief; eight grandchildren, Jacob and Bryson Stump, J.C. , Sean and Gabrielle Whitt, Brandon, MaryBeth and Connor Whitt; two great-grandchildren, Miley and Hayden Whitt; brother, Elbert Whitt (Nita); two sisters, Evelyn Martin and Velva Branscome; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
