Sr. L. Emory

David Lea Emory, Sr., 60, of Disputanta, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011. He was a native of Petersburg and the son of the late David Conway and Violet Marie Brooks Emory. He was an employee of Tarmac for 19 years and VDOT for five years, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly Johnson Emory of Disputanta; son, David Lea Emory, Jr. of Chester; daughter, Victoria Ann King & husband Ray of Disputanta; five grandchildren, Sydney Celia-Ann Emory, David Lea Emory, III â??Treyâ?, Evan Ray Johnson, Ray L. King, Jr., Katie Lynn King; best friend, George Abernathy, Jr. and Tammy of Petersburg, many thanks to his numerous close friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. . Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2011 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
