Gary Lee Plant, Sr., 55, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He worked for twenty years with Tindall Concrete, Inc in Dinwiddie. Mr. Plant was an avid hunter. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Plant, Sr.; and two sisters, Sharon Harvey and Debbra Schellenger. Mr. Plant is survived by his wife, Tammy Plant; children, Kristen Reynolds and husband, Preston, Chasity Williams and husband, Ricky, Brandon Munz, Ben, Gary Plant, Jr., Sarah Plant; six grandchildren; his mother, Ernestine Post Plant of Ohio; siblings, Joanne Armstrong and husband, Matt, Paul Plant, Jr. and wife, Diane, Bill Plant and wife, Darlene, Barbara Thornton and husband, George, Cathy McCloskey and husband, Jack, Richard Plant, Cherie Plant, Nadine Plant all of Ohio, and Erik Plant of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the funeral home, with Pastor Wayne Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery.
