Sr., Manning

Melvin Allen Manning, Sr., 76, of Prince George died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Pike Road, NC and had been a long time resident of the Prince George area. Mr. Manning was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cawson Street Church of Christ, where he has served for many years as an elder. Mr. Manning was the present owner of Manning Mobile Manor. Mr. Manning was preceded in death by his parents, Daffie LeRoy & Elsie Allen Manning. He is survived by his wife, Loreitta Manning, one son, Melvin Allen Manning, Jr. and his wife Teresa, two grandchildren, Lauren Manning and Caitlen Manning all of Prince George. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 10, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Cawson Street Church of Christ, 4th & West Cawson Street, with Mr. Mural Worthey, pastor assisted by Mr. William Harper, retired pastor officiating.
