William Pennie Crocker, Sr., 96, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Waverly Healthcare Center, Waverly, VA. Born October 9, 1909 in Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late Pennie Robertson Crocker and Alice Pastoria Clark Crocker. Mr. Crocker had worked as a Tour Guide at St. Luke?s Church in Smithfield, was a former insurance agent, and a retired farmer. He was a member of the Wesley Men?s Bible Class at Trinity United Methodist Church in Smithfield.
Mr. Crocker is survived by his wife, Mary C. Crocker of Smithfield; a son, William P. Crocker, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Carrollton; a granddaughter, Krystal Pagan; a brother, Samuel R. Crocker of Smithfield; a sister, Dorothy M. Hamilton of Newport News; one niece; and three nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moore?s Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Elberon, Virginia, with the Rev. William Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the Trinity United Methodist Church fellowship hall, Mason and Cedar Sts., in Smithfield, at 3:00 p.m. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, assisted the family with the arrangements.
