Colonel Clyde P. Evely Sr., USAF Ret. passed away Wednesday evening, April 7, 2010. Passing on before him were his wife, Rachel B. Evely, and his daughter, Diane E. Evely. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Joyce Costner of Richmond, VA; his son and daughter in law, Dr. and Mrs. Clyde P. Evely Jr, of Catawba, VA; and his beloved granddaughter, Tristy Evely of Cary, NC. Clyde was a dedicated officer in the Air Force for over 30 years and a pilot of some renown, a faithful member of his church wherever he lived, and a generous provider for his family and those in need. We thank God for his life. The family will receive friends at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, April 10, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
