Charles Ray Thompson, Sr., 85, of Dinwiddie Co., died Thursday, September 10, 2008 at McGuire VA Hospital, son of the late James Oscar and Emma Mae Hatcher Thompson. He was preceded in death by his wife Pansey Faye Thompson and son Johnny D. Thompson. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, served from 1945 to 1952, and was a retired self employed truck driver. He loved to fish and hunt especially in the Deltaville area, also a member of Christians Believer in Ford, VA. He is survived by his son Charles Ray Thompson, Jr. of Petersburg; daughter-in-law of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julian Thompson of Mississippi and James Thompson of Georgia; two sisters, Lutrelle English and Sue both of Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
