Sr., T. Rainey

James â??Jimâ? Thomas Rainey, Sr., 61, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2008. He was born in South Hill, Virginia, son of the late Thomas C. and Queen Tisdale Rainey. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Christine Harris. Mr. Rainey was employed with United Technologies in the Acoustics Industry for 21 years. He was also the former owner and operator of J.T.R. Associates. Mr. Rainey is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Hilda Simmons Rainey; sons, James T. Rainey, Jr. of South Hill and Glenn S. Rainey of Chester; grandchildren, Rebekah, Devante and Rhianna Rainey; siblings, Eugene Rainey and wife, Kathleen of South Hill, Freddie Rainey and wife, Gwendolyn of Beltsville, MD, David Rainey and wife, Carolyn of Lanham, MD, Melvin Rainey and wife, Dorothy of South Hill, Willie Brown and wife, Wanda of Atlanta, GA and Bessie Evans and husband, Donald of Oxford, NC; father & mother-in-law, Chester and Rosa Simmons of Baskerville, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
