James T. White, Sr., 78 of Hopewell, VA passed away peacefully at John Randolph Hospital on Friday, February 3, 2012. He served 8 years in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., in Hopewell, VA after 28 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralston B., Sr. and Mabel R. White, his loving wife of 53 years Estella Witkowski White, sisters Hattie W. Merritt, Erma Minor, and Mary Lee White; brothers John T. McCoy and Randolph Turner; and grandson Stephen McGuire, Jr. He is survived by his three daughters, Robin W. Harris and husband James of Chester, VA, Dawn McGuire and husband Stephen Sr., Paula Duncan and husband John; two sons, James T. White, Jr. and Ronald E. White, all of Hopewell, VA; daughter-in-law Cathy White of Chester, VA; grandchildren Jesse, Mariah and Karley White, Johnathan Pearson, Alexis, Brad and Brian Harris, Tasha, Cole and Tyler Legat, Jamie Rodriguez, Katie, Kristen, John Jr. and Zachary Duncan, R.J. and Ashleigh White; great grandchildren, Antonio Rodriguez, McKenna Tilley, Elijah Wilkins, Areanna Hoover and Dylan Harris; brother Ralston B. White, Jr. and wife Christine of Hopewell, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
