William Wesley Harrell, Sr., 77, was called into the nearer presence of Christ on Tuesday, November 1, 2005. He was born November 20, 1927 in Princess Anne County, Virginia, the son of the late Cleon W. Harrell and Mabel Miller Harrell. Mr. Harrell was a simple, quiet and loving husband, father and grandfather. He had been a resident of Virginia Beach for the past 45 years, and was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA. He was a retired checker for the International Longshoreman?s Association Local 1624 after 35 years of service; and a U. S. Army veteran.

Mr. Harrell is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marion Conway Harrell; four sons, Rev. William W. Harrell, Jr. and wife, Debra, of Norfolk, Mark Wayne Harrell and wife, Anne, of Chesapeake, Kim Neal Harrell and wife, Virginia, , and Christopher Dare Harrell and wife, Margaret; two daughters, Robin H. Carranza and husband, Roland, , and Vicki H. Morris and husband, Brian; one brother, Cleon W. Harrell, Jr., one sister, Betty H. McKown, all of Virginia Beach; fourteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Cynthia Anne Harrell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, VA, officiated by his son, the Rev. William W. Harrell, Jr. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, VA.
