Stanislava Valentin Santos

September 12, 1925 — February 17, 2021

Stani Valentin Santos, 95, died peacefully in Ford, Virginia, at the home of Rena and Karl Togger on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Born in Czech Republic on September 12, 1925, she was the oldest daughter of the late Cetar and Maria Richter, and was also preceded in death by her ex-husband, Felix Santos. She came to Virginia in 1957 as the wife of Felix Santos to whom she was married for thirty-seven years.
Stani is survived by her brother, Hyneck Richter (Anneliese), of Jugenheim, West Germany; her sister, Irene Novakova; her three daughters, Rena Togger (Karl), and Martha Maitland (Willie), and Irene Carmine (Mike) and one son, Rudy Santos (Elsa); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild. She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews here and abroad.
Stani was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church when she resided in Hopewell for fifty-six years. She became a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church when she moved to Dinwiddie and was cared for by her loving daughter Rena and her son-in-law Karl for over seven years.
"Granny" was a thoughtful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her family, friends, the extended Togger family, and church members will miss her dearly, especially her friends, Dorothy and Evelyn. Granny enjoyed watching deer, squirrels, and birds from her window. She loved yard sales, flea markets, and bingo as her favorite past times. Granny enjoyed family gatherings and church affairs where she displayed her lively sense of humor.
She volunteered to help Meals on Wheels; to serve and help at the Food Pantry of Hopewell; and to serve and help with bingo at senior citizen centers in Hopewell for many years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 7310 Squirrel Level Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805.
