Stanley C. Bage, 84, a resident of Waverly, passed away Friday, February 09, 2007 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia. Born in Surry County, VA he was the son of the late Robert Thomas Bage and Betty Florence King Bage. He had worked as a farmer, a dryer operator for the Masonite Corp. in Waverly, was a bus driver for Sussex Co. Public Schools and Tidewater Academy, and had worked at Carquest in Wakefield. He was a member of Blackwater Sportsmanâ??s Club and had served as a driver for the Waverly Vol. Rescue Squad for 20 years.
Stanley had a love for fishing and children, and carried a smile with him wherever he went.

Mr. Bage is survived by a sister, Mary B. Crocker of Smithfield; a brother, Willie K. Bage of Hampton; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Doris B. Harrison, Nellie B. Cooper, and three brothers, V. Franklin Bage, Robert T. Bage, Jr., and Eddie B. Bage.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Wakefield with the Rev. Connie Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 583, Waverly, VA 23890. The Purviance Chapel in Wakefield is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be posted on our website at www.jtmorriss.com .
