Stanley Miller

Stanley Allen Miller, age 78, of Colonial Heights, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate with a Bachelor of Science from the Philadelphia Textile Institute. Upon graduation, Mr. Miller worked in Hopewell as an engineer for Firestone, then for 20 years with United Technologies in Michigan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hopewell. Mr. Miller loved gardening and working with wood. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Miller and Lizzie Feick Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joanne C. Miller; three sons, Scott Miller and wife, Dawn, Brett Miller and wife, Laurie, Todd Miller and close friend, Angela Parker; two grandchildren, Amanda and Aaron Miller; three step grandchildren, Carissa Farthing, and Victoria and Emily Bellflower; two step great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Alexander; and a sister, Emma Kulcsar and husband, Robert. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Browder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
