Stanley Bernard Sutton

Stanley Bernard Sutton, 85 of Hopewell, VA., passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Rufus Sutton and Mary Futch Sutton; and his loving wife, Margaret Webster Sutton. He is survived by his brother, Raymond J. Sutton; nephew, Jerry R. Sutton and wife Laura; great nephews, R. Austin Sutton, Colton Sutton, and Britton Sutton; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Stanley graduated from Hopewell High School in 1952 then went on to Virginia Tech where he graduated in 1956. He retired from the State Highway Department after over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, and a lifelong member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA. A funeral service will be held, 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
