Stephanie King-Compton

Stephanie King-Compton, 40, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2010. She accepted Jesus as her savior at an early age and attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church. She was an employee of MCV Hospital at the time of her death and had been employed at area HCA Hospitals. She attended elementary school in Covington, VA and attended Thomas Dale High School, in Chester, VA. She graduated from Covington High School, Richard Bland College and Southside Regional School of Nursing. She was preceded in death by grandfather Theodore W. King; and grandparents Samuel and Virginia Craft. She is survived by her daughter, Alexa McKenzie Rose; parents, Richard T. â??Tommyâ? and Phyllis Craft King; brother, Dr. Christopher T. King and wife, Chandra of Norfolk; niece, Claudia King and nephew, Grayson King, both of Norfolk; grandmother, Mary Louise King; four aunts; four uncles; and numerous cousins and other loving family members. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie West officiating.
