Stephen Saunders

Stephen Keith Saunders, Sr., 62, of Prince George died on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Leslie Saunders. Mr. Saunders served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a member of the North-South Skirmish Association and served as Regional Commander, National Deputy Commander and National Adjunct Commander. During his period of service in the NSSA he served with the 2nd Virginia Calvary, Cockade Rifles, Nansemond Guards, and 28th North Carolina. Steve is survived by his mother, Ruby Saunders Passalacque of Chesterfield; wife, Diane Pulley Saunders of Prince George; sons, Stephen Keith Saunders, Jr. and wife, Gina of Goochland and Jason Claiborne Saunders and wife, Stacy of Richmond; grandson, Conner R. Saunders; granddaughter, Sara L. Saunders; brothers, Norman Leslie Saunders, Jr. of Chester, William Michael Saunders of North Carolina and Joseph Dale Saunders of Powhattan; sister, Susan Saunders of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Jacquelyn Pulley of Colonial Heights and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 4 to 6 pm.
