Stephen Smith

Stephen A. Smith, 28, a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, passed away in Japan. He was predeceased by his grandfather, James E. Smith, U.S. Marine veteran, John Hancock, Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard and grandmother, Elizabeth LaPrese. He is the son of Gregory V. Smith, former U.S. Army veteran, and Janet Elizabeth Bailey. He is also survived by a son, Andru David Wilson; brothers, Matthew Smith, a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Daniel Smallwood and Adam Smallwood; stepsisters, Heather and Amanda Bailey; aunts, Anita Long of Chester, Virginia, and Rita Meador of Beckley, West Virginia, Eleanor and Katie; cousins, Alden Eldredge, a U. S. Marine veteran, of Chester, Virginia, Nick and Carrie Meador of Beckley, West Virginia; grandparents, Marjorie and Al Clark, U.S. Air Force, Retired; step father Rick Bailey, former U.S. Army veteran; and other loving family members. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22nd at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
