Sterling Neblett

Sterling Rives Neblett Jr., 91, died at his home on May 19, 2011. Mr. Neblett was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling R. Neblett Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Camm Riddle. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nelson Batte Neblett; two daughters, Frances Randolph Neblett Medley (husband the Rev. James W. Medley) of Virginia Beach, and Elizabeth Camm Neblett of Chesterfield; two grandsons, Daniel Wiley Medley (wife Audrey A. Medley) of Richmond, and Robert Oâ??Neal Medley of Virginia Beach; and a great grandson, Jacob Medley. Mr. Neblett was born in Victoria, Virginia. During World War II he served in the Pacific in the U.S. Navy and later was the recipient of a Naval scholarship to Iowa State University where he received a Civil Engineering degree. He was a retired engineer from E.I. DuPont de Nemours and was a communicant of St. Johnâ??s Episcopal Church where he was a vestryman and Sunday School teacher for many years. A graveside service will be held at Blandford Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2011 with Father Bill Taylor officiating.
