Sue Ruis

Sue Stallings Ruis, 86, of Hopewell, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012. Born in Hopewell, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Sallie Taylor Stallings. Mrs. Ruis was a former resident of Battlecreek, Michigan and Plant City, Florida, prior to returning to Hopewell. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William B. Ruis, Sr.; son, William B. Ruis, Jr. and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Johnnie E. Ruis and wife, Angela, and Bryan C. Ruis and wife, Della; great-grandchildren, Erica Ruis, William Ruis, Katie Ruis and Nathaniel Ruis; sister, Lillian S. Rayner of Annapolis, MD; a number of nieces, nephews and the extended family in Florida. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23rd at Calvaryâ??s Love Ministries, 118 S. 11th Avenue, Hopewell, with Pastor Rocky Shearin officiating. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
