Sundersingh Bala, born in Shipra, India on March 3, 1939 passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the age of 80. He was the son of the late Ganpatji Bala and Bhagvanti Devi.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Meena Elthia Bala; daughter, Ritu and son-in-law Mark; son, Rishi and daughter-in-law, Farin; son, Ashish; and two granddaughters Danika & Aria.
He was born the fourth of six brothers and two younger sisters, he leaves behind four siblings; brother, Jeevan Bala; brother, Roopchand Bala; brother, Phoolchand Bala; sister, Indira Lalli
Academic accomplishments include Masters in Economics and Bachelor of Law from Indore Christian College; CGA from University of Alberta; and MBA from University of Detroit.
From 1974-1984 he worked in Canada after which he was employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia until 2018.
A proficient athlete in his youth, he captained soccer teams and ran track in the 100m, 200m and 400m events.
He loved camping and cooking, but found the most joy in seeing to the happiness of his family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Chester United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
