Susan K Hefele - Irvin

Susan Kay Hefele-Irvin, 76, of Chester, VA, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Harrsion Hefele and Gertrude Susa Pauls Hefele; brother, David Hefele; and son, Michael Richard Back.

Susan was employed with AT&T, retiring after more than 20 years and then went on to work for Berkley Plantation for another 20 years. In her younger years, she was an avid tennis player and practiced Tai Chi. She was also a proud member of the Clan Irwin Association.

She is survived by her husband, David Irvin, Sr.; four children, C. David Irvin, Jr. (Noelle), Cathleen Back Davies (Paul), Melanie Irvin Mims (Patrick), and Amanda Irvin Anderson (David); twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald T. Hefele; sister, Paula A. Schelling; faithful four-legged companion, Maggie.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Service, at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Entombment will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
