Susan Elaine Polhemus Inge, 51, departed this life Saturday, November 27, 2004 at home after a year-long battle with Leukemia. During her illness at the hospital and at home, she was continuously surrounded by her husband and children who gave her love and support. Sue grew up in Belmar, New Jersey, on the beautiful Jersey shore and met Randy, her husband of 29 years, while she attended Radford University and he attended Virginia Tech. They were married in 1975 and from this union were born one daughter, Holly, and two sons, Ryan and Randy. Sue was a devoted mother, always putting family matters first. She enjoyed homemaking and decorating and worked for six years at Country Curtains in Richmond prior to her illness. Sue, or “Babe”, as Randy affectionately called her is survived by her husband, Randy of Chesterfield, and three loving and devoted children, Holly Elaine Inge of Glen Allen, Ryan Allyn and Randy Christopher of Chesterfield. She is also survived by her father, Leigh S. Polhemus of Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey and her brother, Richard L. Polhemus and wife, Peggy of Brick, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Simmill Polhemus of New Jersey. Sue is greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her wonderful neighbors in Woodland Pond and by her many friends and family. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chester Presbyterian Church with Dr. David Horne, officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends today (Monday, November 29) at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chester Presbyterian Church, 3424 W.
