Susan Saval Nunemaker

Susan Saval Nunemaker, 79, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was the widow of Jon Nunemaker and the daughter of the late Samuel and Rena Shapiro Saval.

Susan was a retired educator, having worked in the Dinwiddie County Public School System for 33 years. She was a past president of Odyssey of the Minds and Destination Imagination, traveling all over the world for both. She was on the board of the Eppington Foundation, a VCU Alumni having received her Master of Education, and an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Nunemaker (Kevin); her son, Jason Nunemaker (Patricia); and granddaughter, Jade. Also surviving are her brother, Wallace Saval (Frances); sister, Marcia Behl (John); and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Southlawn Memorial Park, on January 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lab Rescue of the LRCP, Inc ( https://www.lab-rescue.org/ ).
