Susan Slinkard

Susan Michele Peres Slinkard, age 59, of Chester, VA, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007. She was born in Rockville Centre, New York, the daughter of the late Albert J. and Stephanie F. Peres. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted Army wife. Susan always welcomed people as if they were family, was a gracious host to many, and a friend to all. She was known for her sense of humor and positive outlook. A five year survivor of breast cancer, Susan is survived by a loving husband of 36 years, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Richard L. Slinkard and five children: Galen J. Slinkard, Blythe E. S. Wells and husband Jason, Larissa M. Edmondson and husband Matthew, Audra L. Kelley and husband Brandon, and Sibley E. Slinkard; and grand-daughter, Peres A. Kelley. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Mt.
