Susan Gale Wood, 60, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was born on the Nickel Bridge in a taxi cab on June 21, 1954. Mrs. Wood is retired from Philip Morris with over thirty-three years of service. She was a member of Covenant Christian Fellowship in Colonial Heights, and a former member of House of Prayer in Chesterfield. Mrs. Wood liked creating stained glass, and most importantly ministering to her friends in the community, and serving as a prayer warrior. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her faithful dog, Joey. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Gladys Driver; and her sister, Peggy Holmes. She is survived by her husband, Michael Wood; children, Pamela Willman and her husband, Steve, Ayako Zickefoose and her husband, Caleb, and Samuel Wood and his wife, Katelyn; grandchildren, Penelope, Gavrie, Xavier, and Berkley; brother, Michael Driver; sister, Patricia Thomas and her husband, Dale; and brothers-in-law, Terry Wood and Kevin Wood. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Murray. Interment will be private. Condolences may be registered online at
